So what you should undertake in order to get rid of the bags under the eyes and have a gorgeous skin? It is time for special morning eye solution.

Bags under the eyes are a very common problem that many people face with. This is usually a result of the development of age. In fact, it’s the fat that supports the eyes which moves in the lower eyelids, causing them to appear puffy. Also, some fluid may accumulate below your eyes and cause additional swelling.

However, you can remove the bags under the eyes with a completely natural solution made out of four ingredients. They include:

  • ½ ounce of witch hazel extract
  • 10 drops of chamomile essential oil
  • ½ ounce of pure Aloe Vera gel

The preparation of this morning eye solution will take you only ten minutes and it will serve for 20 uses.

Erase Dark Circles and Saggy Skin With This Homemade Coconut Oil and Essential Oil Cream

Because we cannot see inside the body, the skin often provides the first obvious marks of aging. It is a known fact that as we age, our skin becomes less resilient, resulting in dry skin and wrinkles and slower healing. Often, the first place this is visible is around the eyes. Yes, I’m talking about the dreaded crow’s feet.

Diet plays a huge role in how our skin looks and feels; however, there are ways to create a beautiful glow and fewer wrinkles (including less visible crow’s feet) using natural remedies like this homemade eye cream with frankincense essential oil and shea butter.

Aging Skin is Complicated

While it would seem that the best solution is to replace the oils that we lose due to aging and free radicals from environmental toxins, it simply isn’t that easy. As reported by the journal Dermato Endocrinology, skin aging is a complex biological process influenced by a combination of factors, such as genetics, cellular metabolism, hormone and metabolic processes as well as chronic light exposure, pollution, ionizing radiation, chemicals and toxins. These factors together lead to the progressive changes in each skin layer as well as changes in the appearance of the skin, especially sun-exposed skin areas. (1)

Reduced collagen type VII, often caused by sun-exposed aged skin, may contribute to wrinkles by weakening the bond between the dermis and epidermis as we get older. And because of a loss of collagen, older skin begins to look irregular and disorganized as wrinkles increase and skin becomes less firm, especially on the face and around the eyes.

The overall collagen content per unit area of the skin surface is known to decline approximately 1 percent per year. Three primary structural components of the dermis — collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) —have been the focus of most anti-aging research pertaining to the skin to include anti-wrinkle creams and various filling agents that you may find at the dermatologist.

Why Natural Remedies?

So, what does help reduce wrinkles around the eyes? Ultimately, the basis of any natural skin care routine is to achieve healthy, smooth, blemish-free, translucent and resilient skin. To help achieve the best results and to avoid toxic chemicals found in most commercial products, consider making a homemade eye cream.

Because natural oils are pure and do not contain toxic ingredients, they can be absorbed safely and effectively —helping your skin and the areas around your eyes retain moisture and, therefore, reducing the appearance of wrinkles. It works by allowing the nutrients and proteins in essential oils like frankincense oil to encourage cell-regeneration. Try this homemade eye cream today!

Top 10 Uses for Peppermint Essential Oil

If you want to start an essential oils collection, peppermint essential oil is a good start. This is because it is a very versatile and one of the commonly used essential oil. Peppermint is a hybrid mint, a cross between watermint and spearmint. Peppermint has a long tradition of medicinal use and it has a strong, clean, fresh and minty aroma.

Peppermint oil has a high menthol content that produces a cooling and refreshing sensation and is extracted from the whole plant above ground just before flowering. Peppermint essential oil is very intense and is far more concentrated than most other steam distilled essential oils.
Here are 10 good reasons why you should consider adding peppermint essential oil to your daily life:

1. Spider and bug repellent
All spiders have their taste buds on the tips of their legs and there are certain scents they hate, and one of them is peppermint essential oil, which will help to repel the spiders both inside and outside your home. It is also effective against other bugs. Take a 12 oz bottle of witch hazel and add to it 30-50 drops of essential oil. Shake well and place in your spray bottle using a funnel. Before each use just shake up a bit. Other good essential oils to add to the mix are lemon grass, citronella, tea tree, spearmint and cinnamon.

2. Increase concentration and alertness
You’ve probably heard that along with smart teaching, careful preparation, a good night’s sleep and a full stomach, peppermint candies are said to improve test performance. In the 1990s, researchers at University of Cincinnati found that a smell of peppermint helped test subjects concentrate and do better on tasks that required sustained concentration and achieved improvement in focus and alertness. You can just put the bottle under your nose and inhale. you may also be interested to read my article about the best herbs to improve memory and brain function.

3. Relieve headache
Refreshing and cooling peppermint essential oil contains a significant amount of menthol. Amongst its many uses, menthol is known to help relax and ease tension headaches and muscular aches and pains. Rub one drop of peppermint essential oil on the temples, forehead, over the sinuses (avoid contact with your eyes), and on the back of the neck to relieve head pressure. See an effective headache oil blend containing peppermint in my article how to relieve headache using essential oils.

4. Relieve muscle, joint pain and nerve pain
Peppermint essential oil is good to soothe tired, aching muscles, relieve arthritis and rheumatism. Put a few drops of peppermint essential oil in a hot bath (you can also add 2-3 cups of Epsom salt to enhance the effect). It’s a good idea to mix the essential oil drops in a small amount of carrier oil first and then add to the bath. Or you can use it as a massage oil – use about 10 drops of essential oil per 1 ounce of carrier oil and massage this oil blend into any body part where your muscles are sore. You can find more information in my article the top 16 essential oils to relieve pain and how to use them.

5. Relieve sinus congestion
Rosemary, tee tree, eucalyptus and peppermint essential oils may help relieve some symptoms of sinus congestion. Just do a steam inhalation by adding few drops of peppermint essential oil in boiling water, and place a towel over your head. Bend over the pan and breathe in the steam. It will provide a cooling action and can bring a feeling of air flowing through your nose. Find here more home remedies for sinus infection.

6. Flavor Booster
Pure peppermint essential oil is edible! First be sure that the oil is very, very diluted, and make sure you’re using food-grade essential oil, as most are not edible. Only food grade essential oils, such as Young Living Essential Oils, can be ingested or taken internally. Add a drop to your tea, coffee or few drops to cookie, brownie or other dessert recipes.

7. Refresh your breath
Place one drop of peppermint essential oil on your tongue to refresh your breath. Find here more information about ways to treat bad breath naturally.

8. Aromatherapy bath
The aromatherapy bath with various essential oils is a simple and very effective aromatherapy treatment. We all know the relaxing properties of water and essential oils, but the aromatherapy bath doesn’t have to be relaxing. It can also be stimulating, depending on the essential oils that you choose and the water temperature. Peppermint essential oil is good for stimulation and revitalizing your body. See instructions in my article how to make aromatherapy bath for stimulation.

9. Alleviate symptoms of motion sickness or nausea
Place a drop of peppermint essential oil on the end of your tongue, or behind your ears, or around your navel or massage several drops of peppermint essential oil on your abdomen, or just inhale it from a handkerchief to find relief. Don’t use peppermint essential oil during pregnancy.

10. Improve digestion
Peppermint has become one of the oldest and most used herbs for soothing digestion issues and restoring digestive efficiency. Add a drop of peppermint essential oil to a herbal tea or a cup of water to help aid normal digestion.
