  • 2 tablespoon chickpea flour
  • 3 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon fresh cream

Process

  • Mix all the above given ingredients together to make a paste
  • Apply this on face and massage for 10 minutes
  • Leave it on the face for 20 minutes or till the paste dries
  • Remove the paste after 20 minutes by rubbing it with palms in the opposite direction of hair growth.
  • You can also use the mixture of besan or chickpea flour, turmeric and water in the same way.

10 Chemicals Your Body Absorbs Every Time You Put On Nail Polish

Some people view getting a manicure or doing their own nails at home as a relaxing and creative form of self-expression. Sadly it is not as harmless as you think. The study by Duke University and the Environmental Working Group shares that even though polish is applied to the fingernail our bodies still absorb hormone disrupting chemicals every time we use conventional nail polish. In particular, the study mentions triphenyl phosphate (TPHP) an endocrine disrupting chemical that is commonly used in nail polish. Health. The chemical was found in test subjects bodies within 10-14 hours of application. In addition diphenyl phosphate (DPHP) a metabolite of TPHP had increased in test subjects bodies sevenfold.

Consumers and Technicians
Consumers increase their risk for multiple chemical exposures by going to nail salons, where there may be multiple workstations and the risk for exposure is increased. It is however nail technicians who have the greatest risk, since they are exposed to these chemicals on a consistent daily basis. Health.

Ten common nail polish ingredients to avoid
Personally I don’t believe nail polish is worth the risk, but if you simply cannot give up your nail polish then be sure to read labels and avoid these ten chemicals at all costs.

Butyl or ethyl acetate - This is toxic when inhaled, as well as being highly flammable. According to the MSDS this chemical can be seriously damaging to internal organs in the case of repeated or prolonged exposure.

Camphor – This toxic ingredient is poisonous, can add to body toxicity, cause seizures and nervousness/irritability.

Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) – This received a poor rating with EWG, which lists it as a high hazard. They also state that it can cause endocrine disruption and organ system toxicity. This chemical was also banned in Europe, due to its known effect of reproductive problems.

Formaldehyde (or derivatives) - While these may not be as much as they were in the past, many manufacturers still use this chemical. A known carcinogen, it also can cause allergic reactions, skin rashes and irritations

Nitrocellulose – While EWG rates this as low risk, it does state moderate concerns about organ toxicity. This is actually used in car paint, as well as dynamite and fireworks.

Parabens - This chemical acts as a preservative. There are a wide variety of parabens, none of which should be used since they are linked to cancer. Health.

Toluene - Toluene is a noxious chemical used in nail polish, base coats and topcoats to help the polish stay on the nail. Toluene is included in a list of hazardous chemicals cited in a 1987 California law. Dye Your Hair Naturally: These Recipes Will Make Your Hair Perfect

Tea

1. Potassium Chloride

These are flavor enhancers used together with monosodium glutamate (MSG). Manufacturers often use different forms of similar chemicals so they don’t have to list MSG on the label as many people try to avoid it.

This is a crystalline food additive used to maintain acidity level and bind the other ingredients. As cited on one food site: “Reports have shown that (tetra)sodium pyrophosphate is twice as toxic as table salt when ingested orally. It is a source of phosphorous as a nutrient. Because its production methods and side effects are relatively unknown, consumption should be avoided. Some individuals may experience stomach cramps and discomfort.”

4.  Carmine
Carmine is made from crushed cochineal beetles which are red. This substance is used to make surimi look red like crab on the outside. However, carmine has also been linked to allergies and a number of dietary issues.

5.  Other Ingredients
Other disputed ingredients in surimi include sorbitol, which is a form of sugar (it’s not specified on the label whether it’s naturally-occurring or synthetic—it could be either and is in addition to the Sugar also on the label); carrageenan, which is a seaweed extract that although a natural product, still causes inflammation and gastrointestinal problems; hydrolyzed soy or MSG, etc.

“Hydrolysis is a method of extraction that boils the soy protein in a vat of sulfuric acid.  Manufacturers mix the resulting acidic substance with caustic soda to neutralize the acid content.  While hydrolyzed soy protein contains most of the nutrients and health benefits of soy, when you consume this type of soy you also consume the unhealthy chemical byproducts of the manufacturing process… such as monosodium glutamate that can lead to health problems. According to “Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills,” the Food and Drug Administration [FDA] requires food manufacturers to list MSG as an ingredient when used in the preparation of packaged food.  However, FDA regulations do not require the same labeling when a food contains hydrolyzed soy protein, despite the fact that this type of soy contains large quantities of MSG.  In fact, some food manufacturers use hydrolyzed soy protein as a flavor enhancer to work around the FDA’s MSG labeling requirement.”

6. High Sodium Content
