Celery Discovered To Fight Listed Cancers

If you are still looking for a reason to add more celery to your menu, researchers will sure make things easier for you. The latest research showed that celery contains a compound with strong anti-tumor activity.

Apigenin is not only effective in the fight against pancreatic, ovarian, liver, small bowel, stomach, lung, and breast cancer, it can also inhibit cell proliferation, as confirmed by in vitro studies. This flavonoid can be found in many fruits and vegetables, but celery is the richest source of apigenin.

The National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Cancer Institute in the U.S. have funded a study in which scientists isolated apigenin and studied its possible effect on tumor growth. The team of experts injected ovarian epithelial cancer cells (OVCAR-3) into the ovaries of laboratory mice. OVCAR-3 cells are believed to have strong tumorigenicity and resistance to chemo. Withing 4 weeks the mice developed abdominal tumor.

In the second phase, scientists administred apigenin extract orally, 75mg/kg and 150 mg/kg, which was 0.025 percent and 0,05 percent og the total daily food intake by mice. The study showed that oral administration of apigenin “inhibited ovarian tumor micrometastasis in liver, lung, small intestine and stomach in different degrees” and also offered a “new rationale for apigenin in ovarian cancer prevention and treatment in the future.”

The Molecular Cancer also conducted a study, this time they studied the effect of apigenin on pancreatic cancer, and their findings were just similar. According to the results, apigenin can arrest human pancreatic cancer cell growth in vitro and also “appears to exert its inhibitory effects on cell cycle progression in other cell lines as well.”

Non-Toxic Treatment for Breast Cancer
Apigenin has the power to inhibit aggressive breast cancer. A group of scientists at the University of Missouri found that it can shrink tumors stimulated by progestine, a steroid hormone.

“This is the first study to show that apigenin, which can be extracted from celery, parsley and many other natural sources, is effective against human breast cancer cells that had been influenced by a certain chemical used in hormone replacement therapy,” explained co-author Salman Hyder, a professor of tumor angiogenesis and biomedical sciences in a press release of the University of Missouri.

However, Hyder believes that human clinical trials could be difficult. “One problem is, because apigenin doesn’t have a known specific target in the cancer cell, funding agencies have been reticent to support the research. Also, since apigenin is easily extracted from plants, pharmaceutical companies don’t stand to profit from the treatment; hence the industry won’t put money into studying something you can grow in your garden.”

Fortunately, you do not need to wait for pharmaceutical industry to make a progress -- trust nature and eat celery more often. Fresh celery juice provides ultimate bioavailability, prevention and great health benefits. Remember, always use organic celery, because conventional celery is believed to have the highest pesticide rate when compared to any other vegetable.

6 Reasons Turmeric May Be The World`s Most Important Herb

Science greatly supports the use of turmeric, and people have been using this medicinal herb for a very long time to improve their health.

Turmeric is powerful enough to be used in the place of some pharmaceutical drugs. It has less side-effects than synthetic medications, and the number of health benefits from using turmeric is  high, which demonstrates its positive effect on more than 160 different medical conditions.

Turmeric is safe to use, compared to hydrocortisone, chemotherapy drugs and ibuprofen. No medical drug has come close to its 6,000-year record of safety in Ayurvedic medicine — not even some supposedly modern pharmaceutical miracles.

Even though turmeric has great potential to protect human health, it is not a drug, so it can’t be patented.  The FDA wouldn’t be able to receive a profit from it, so therefore, would probably never approve it.

The old aphorism “he who owns the gold makes the rules” goes for the FDA’s ‘gold standard’ for proving the value of a potential agent or substance. The FDA has requested that no clinical trials occur, unless a potential investor agrees to risk losing 800+ million dollars which would need to be spent upfront.

GreenMedInfo.com conducted a study which involved and reviewed more than 5,000 abstracts from the National Library of Medicine’s bibliographic database, known as MEDLINE.

It has been found that turmeric has over 600 potential benefits, and researchers also discovered its primary polyphenol, known as curcumin.

We have listed some of the most potent healing properties of turmeric:
-- Protects against radiation-induced damage
-- Prevents and reverses Alzheimer’s disease associated pathologies
-- Destroys multi-drug resistant cancers
-- Protects against heavy metal toxicity
-- Destroys cancer stem cells (the root of cancer)
-- Reduces unhealthy level of inflammation

Turmeric can improve any health condition that don’t respond to conventional treatments, but that’s not all. There are over 600 other health conditions that could be possibly prevented and treated with turmeric.

Take into consideration the fact that turmeric grows in almost every part of the world, and you can surely understand why it is such a dangerous threat to the pharmaceutical industry.

Learn more about the research in this video (keep in mind that the video is old, so it may need some updates) and share the information to your close family and friends, so they can all learn more about the healing power of turmeric.

Science Confirms Turmeric As Effective As 14 Drugs

Turmeric is one the most completely examined plants today. Its therapeutic properties and segments (principally curcumin) have been the subject of more than 5600 peer-reviewed and published biomedical studies.

Actually, our five-year long research program on this divine plant has uncovered more than 600 potential preventive and remedial applications, and in addition 175 different useful physiological impacts. This whole database of 1,585 ncbi-hyperlinked turmeric abstracts can be downloaded as a PDF file at our page: Downloadable Turmeric Document.

Given the deep examination performed on this astounding spice, it is no big surprise that a developing number of studies have reasoned that it contrasts positively with a mixture of traditional medicines, such as:

LIPITOR/Atorvastatin (cholesterol MEDICATION)

A 2008 research published in the Drugs in R & D journal revealed that an institutionalized planning of curcuminoids from Turmeric contrasted positively with the medication atorvastatin dysfunction, the underlying pathology of the veins that drives atherosclerosis, connecting to decreases in irritation and oxidative stress, in type 2 diabetic patients.

CORTICOSTEROIDS (STEROID MEDICATIONS)

A 1999 research, published in the Phytotherapy Research journal, revealed that the essential polyphenol in turmeric, the saffron colored pigment known as curcumin, contrasted positively with steroids in the administration of chronic anterior uveitis, an incendiary eye sickness.

A 2008 research published in Critical Care Medicine revealed that curcumin contrasted positively with the corticosteroid drug dexamethasone in the animal model as an optional treatment for ensuring lung transplantation-related injury by down-directing incendiary genes.

A preceding 2003 research published in Cancer Letters discovered the same medication contrasted positively with dexamethasone in a lung ischaemia-repurfusion injury model, too.

PROZAC/FLUOXETINE & IMIPRAMINE  (ANTIDEPRESSANTS)

A 2011 research published in the Acta Poloniae Pharmaceutica journal revealed that curcumin contrasted positively with both medications in decreasing depressive conduct in an animal model.

Aspirin (BLOOD THINNER)

A 1986 in vitro and ex vivo research published in the Arzneimittelforschung journal revealed that curcumin has anti-platelet and prostacyclin balancing impacts contrasted with aspirin, showing it may be beneficial to patients inclined to vascular thrombosis, and in need of anti-arthritis therapy.

ANTI-INFLAMMATORY DRUGS

A 2004 research published in the Oncogene journal revealed that curcumin (and resveratrol) were viable options to the medications aspirin, ibuprofen, sulindac, phenylbutazone, naproxen, indomethacin, diclofenac, dexamethasone, celecoxib, and tamoxifen in pushing calming and anti-proliferative actions against tumor cells.

OXALIPLATIN (CHEMOTHERAPY DRUG)

A 2007 research published in the International Journal of Cancer revealed that curcumin contrasts positively and oxaliplatin, as an antiproliferative agenet in colorectal cell lines.

METFORMIN (DIABETES DRUG)

A 2009 research published in the Biochemistry and Biophysical Research Community journal investigated how curcumin may be beneficial in treating diabetes, observing that it initiates AMPK (which expands glucose uptake) and suppresses gluconeogenic gene expression (which suppresses formulation of glucose in the liver) in hepatoma cells.

Fascinatingly, they discovered curcumin to be 500 times to 100,000 times (in the structure known as tetrahydrocurcuminoids(thc)) stronger than metformin in triggering AMPK and its downstream target acetyl-Coa carboxylase (ACC).

An alternative way in which turmeric and its segments uncover their noteworthy curative properties is in exploration of drug resistant- and multi-drug resistant tumors.

We have two categories on our site devoted to exploring natural and integrative treatments on these subjects, keeping in mind there are many substances with evident viability against these chemotherapy- and radiation-safe tumors, curcumin tops both records:

Tumors: Drug Resistant

Tumors: Multi-Drug Resistant

We have discovered more than 54 researches demonstrating that curcumin can incite cell death ensitize drug-resistant tumor cell lines to ordinary treatment.

We have distinguished 27 studies on curcumin’s capability to either cause cell death or sensitize multi-drug resistant tumor cells to ordinary treatment.

Considering the turmeric’s solid track record, used as both food and medicine in different cultures, for a huge number of years, a solid argument can be made for using curcumin as a medication or adjuvant in tumor treatment.

On the other hand, believe it or not, you can use confirmed natural (non-irradiated) turmeric in lower culinary measurements regularly, with the goal that courageous dosages won’t be fundamental later on, after the arrival of a serious illness. Feeding yourself, as opposed to curing yourself with “nutraceuticals,” ought to be the objective of a healthy eating regimen.

Turmeric Fights Inflammation: Here’s How Much You Should Take And How Often For Best Results

Natural spices have always been the go-to, instant healing therapy for centuries back.

Aside from being used in the culinary world, they represent strong anti-inflammatory agents that often help the body deal with numerous health conditions. One of the most popular and incredibly healthy spices is, of course, turmeric.

Turmeric has been widely used in the cosmetics industry, cooking recipes, and it is frequently used to heal wounds, prevent cancer and reduce pain and inflammation.

Still, due to the countless forms of turmeric, it is difficult to find just the right one to use, and we’re now answering that very question.

Defining Turmeric

Turmeric contains numerous compounds all bringing different kick to the body. Curcumin makes up most of turmeric, and it is also present in other healthy plans like ginger.

Some of the turmeric benefits include:

  • anti-inflammatory properties
  • Anticancer benefits
  • anti- allergies properties
  • reduces Arthritis pain
  • deals with depression
  • stabilizes diabetes
  • lowers the risk of heart attack

Turmeric for Inflammation

When the body is inflamed it can be a result of numerous different factors. The healing process can be hard and annoying, since there are two forms of inflammation, acute inflammation and chronic inflammation.

Acute inflammation starts after an injury happens, and can drastically escalate, while chronic inflammation is persistent and can last for months and even years.

Inflammation ca disrupt the health in many ways. Often, it can cause cancer, asthma, arthritis, obesity, heart disease and others, especially if we’re talking about chronic inflammation.

An article written by Dr. Mercola explains through the words of a nutritionist called Donnie Yance that cancer and heart-related problems can be triggered by chronic inflammation. Furthermore, this enables the release of free radicals within the body.

The Difference between Whole Turmeric and Supplements

One of the biggest differences between turmeric and its supplements is that curcumin is often found in larger doses in the supplement form. If you take a supplement, it will provide you with around 500mg of curcumin, while 1 tsp of turmeric powder will offer only 15mg.

There is also the powder version of turmeric, although going raw and fresh is always the best option.

The flavor can be quite intense for certain people, and that is why supplements are a better fit. Additionally, supplements are rich in significant essential oils. In order for the supplements to provide

The downside of consuming turmeric supplements

It is not recommended you take supplements if you:

  • are pregnant –miscarriage risks are higher
  • are trying to conceive or you’re struggling with conceiving
  • suffer from gallstones or gallbladder disease
  • have a scheduled surgery within the next two weeks
  • are one meds that prevent clotting, like aspirin – sometimes it results in more bleeding and bruising
  • have stomach issues – it is known to trigger gastric irritation, nausea and/or diarrhea
  • are on diabetes medication – can provoke hypoglycemia
  • are iron deficient

Proper use of turmeric and dosing

One study, conducted by the University of Maryland’s Complementary and Alternative Medicine Guide, suggests these doses as the optimal to get favorable effects:

  • Cut root: 1.5-3 grams/day
  • Dried, powdered root: 1-3 grams/day
  • fluid extract (1:1): 30-90 drops/day
  • Tincture (1:2): 15-30 drops 4 times a day
  • Standardized powder supplement: 400-600 mg 3 times a day
Turmeric should become a part of your daily nutrition plan and the same goes for other spices as well. A little goes a long way, so give it a try.

Ginger Force Cancer Cell Death More Effectively Than Chemotherapy (How to Use Ginger as an Medicine)

Ginger (lat. Zingiber officinale) is a superb plant that can provide numerous health benefits. This root has been used since ancient times as a natural remedy in eastern medicine.

It improves appetite, and is quite effective in case of nausea and against vertiginous problems.

However, studies during the past few decades have found more important properties of ginger, such as antioxidant activity and anticancer properties.

Namely, the Comprehensive Cancer Center of the University of Michigan, has performed a research which showed that ginger prevents proliferation of cancer cells and improves the effectiveness of other treatment options.

It has been suggested that paradols, gingerols, and shogaols present in its root have a crucial role, although the active substances of ginger which are responsible for anticancer properties are not strictly defined.

Paradols, gingerols and shogaols are photochemicals contained in low concentrations in the root, so in order to obtain greater concentration, many supplements with ginger root extracts are formulated.

Ginger and Breast Cancer

One study investigated the effects of ginger on breast cancer cells, and apart from killing breast cancer cells, ginger showed effects on diminishing several important signal molecules within cancer cells responsible for metastatic and spreading properties of this aggressive tumor.

The conclusion was that ginger could be a safe and effective treatment for breast cancer, however, more examination should be done on its effects.

Ginger and Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian cancer cells were also subjected to studies investigating the effects of ginger. The findings showed that phytochemicals in ginger cause apoptosis (programmed cell death) of ovarian cancer cells.

Moreover, researchers suggested that besides anticancer activity, ginger supplementation could help people to better handle chemotherapy.

Ginger and Prostate Cancer

Another study investigated the effects of ginger on the development of prostate cancer in mice.

Tumor cells were treated with ginger extract both in vivo and in vitro.They used ginger extract in daily dose of 100mg/kg of bodyweight and got amazing results.

Namely, ginger impaired the growth and slowed down the progression of prostate cancer in 56% of cases. Moreover, ginger caused no detectable side effects.
Accordingly, the findings of the studies mentioned above can propose that the regular use of ginger as a part of a healthy diet may help in preventing cancer.

In general, it is not prescribed to take more than 4 g of ginger a day, or no more than 1g in case of pregnancy.

However, ginger could be considered a component of future treatments of cancer, due to its beneficial effects against different types of tumor cells.

Further studies will reveal which substances specifically should be extracted from ginger and what are the appropriate dosages.

Turmeric Is A Potent Inflammation And Cancer Fighter: How Much You Should Take And How Often

Turmeric is a great spice with powerful medicinal properties. It is mostly known as the main ingredient in curry. The root can be grated like ginger and used fresh or dry. Here’s a list of diseases the golden-colored spice can treat:

-Cancer;
-Arthritis;
-Psoriasis;
-Heart attack;
-Gallstones;
-Digestive problems;
-Alzheimer’s disease;
-Diabetes;
-Depression;
-Allergies and colds;
-Skin conditions and wounds;

Turmeric is often a part of natural cosmetic products that can do wonders for your skin.

Curry is a mix of spices that have numerous unique properties. The active ingredient of turmeric is called curcumin and is the most studied of all the compounds in the spice. According to several studies, curcumin can treat over 600 diseases and conditions.

The powers of turmeric

Turmeric contains 20 antibiotic compounds, of which 14 have anti-cancer properties, 12 are anti-inflammatory agents while 10 of them are also antioxidants.

Alzheimer’s disease

Both curcumin and turmerone in turmeric can stimulate new neuron production and make the brain heal itself. This is especially helpful for traumatic brain injuries, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease.

Arthritis

Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, turmeric can treat arthritis when consumed or applied topically. The suggested dose is a capsule of 400-600 mg. 3 times a day.

Depression

Turmeric has powerful antidepressant properties that work even better than most antidepressants. The spice reduces the levels of the stress hormone cortical, while increasing the production of serotonin in the body. The spice can be consumed in fresh of supplement form, but it can also be mixed with other natural remedies for depression such as St. John’s Wort tea.

Cancer

Turmeric targets cancer cells selectively and leaves the normal cells unharmed, effectively amplifying the effects of chemotherapy or radiation. According to Dr. SaraswatiSukumar, a well-known oncologist, consuming fresh turmeric is more beneficial against cancer than curcumin supplements.

The main problem with curcumin is that the compound isn’t fully bioavailable. In order to benefit from it, you need to increase its absorption by adding some black pepper in the spice and consuming the mixture. This will boost the absorption rate of curcumin by 2000% and will help you get its full health benefits.

Turmeric tea

Boiling turmeric for 10 minutes will increase curcumin’s ability for about 10 times. To prepare the tea, just add half a teaspoon of turmeric in a cup of water and simmer it for 10 minutes, then strain the tea and drink it warm. The taste of turmeric is very bitter, but the boiling process will eliminate the bitterness.

Here’s how to prepare a tasty cup of turmeric tea:

Ingredients:

-Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder
-Half a cup of coconut milk
-Half a cup of water
-1 tablespoon of coconut oil
-Honey (optional)

Preparation:

Bring the water to a boil in a pot, then add the turmeric and simmer the tea for 10 minutes. In the end, add the coconut milk and oil and sweeten the tea with a teaspoon of honey.

Turmeric dosage

Turmeric root is now easily available in almost all health stores and markets. The University of Maryland’s Complementary and Alternative Medicine Guide suggests these daily doses of turmeric for adults:

-Freshly cut turmeric root – 1.5 – 3 gr. daily;
-Tincture (1:2 ratio) – 15-30 drops 4 times a day;
-Fluid extract (1:1 ratio) – 30-90 drops daily;
-Dried powdered turmeric root – 1 – 3 gr. a day.

For turmeric supplements, the recommended dose is 400-600 mg. a day. Find a product that has 95% curcuminoids and contains black pepper or piperinefor better absorption. Follow the instructions on the label if you’re unsure of the dosage.

Side-effects of turmeric consumption

There are no known side-effects of turmeric consumption, but turmeric supplements have some adverse side-effects. Avoid taking them if you’re pregnant, trying to conceive, if you’re suffering from gallbladder disease or a hormone-sensitive condition.

You should also avoid taking turmeric supplements if you’re scheduled for surgery, on blood-clotting or iron deficiency meds, or if you’re suffering from stomach problems. Turmeric supplements can also interfere with diabetes and stomach acid-reducing drugs.

This Herb Is Easily Accessible And Not Many People Know That It Cures Severe Illnesses!

This wood is originating from middle Asia but it is spotted also in Europe. Many herbs that grow in these regions are not so well known for its medicinal properties because they are used mainly for industrial purposes.

The white mulberry is no different. It has many industrial uses, but more importantly it has several medicinal and health benefits that most people are unaware of.

This wood is used for industrial causes and the fruit serves as food for the silkworm. Its fruit is very healthy, helpful and assist into the fight against severe diseases like diabetes, cardiac illness and even tumors.

The white mulberry contains organic acids, vitamin C, carotene, pectin and fiber. These active ingredients assist in the inflammation of the tonsils, cure cough, fever, diarrhea, headache and inflammation. Below, in more detail, are some of the top benefits of mulberries.

Health Benefits of Mulberries

-Delicious, fleshy, succulent mulberries are less in calories (just 43 calories per 100 g). They compose of health promoting phyto-nutrient compounds like polyphenol pigment antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins that are essential for optimum health.
Mulberries have significantly high amounts of phenolic flavonoid phytochemicals called anthocyanins. Scientific studies have shown that consumption of berries have potential health effects against cancer, aging and neurological diseases, inflammation, diabetes, and bacterial infections.

-The berries contain resveratrol, another polyphenol flavonoid antioxidant. Turmeric As A Cure For Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a long life skin condition with no medical cure. Patients usually rely on steroidal medications to suppress the body’s immune system. However, this has been a concern over the years because steroids are known to cause serious side effects when used over a long period. This is why nowadays many people have turned to turmeric for managing psoriasis symptoms rather than using medication.

Turmeric has been used for centuries in treatment of various skin conditions. The curative property of turmeric gained more attention when scientists isolated its therapeutic component curcumin. Curcumin is an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant healing agent that can be taken orally or applied to the affected skin. You can add one teaspoon to your juice. An avocado smoothie is good choice since the fat in avocado increases its absorption. To rub it on the skin, you need to mix the powder with some water or oil. However, note that it might stain your clothes and it takes effort to wash off. But it’s a risk worth taking considering the health benefits you will reap from it. For those looking for a convenient solution, you can buy turmeric pills from the store and take as recommended.

Suppressing psoriasis activity

Curcumin suppresses the activity of enzyme PhK which is responsible for the psoriasis activity.

Curcumin and inflammation

Most Psoriasis patients suffer from inflammation. Curcumin takes care of this by reducing the level of histamine. Histamine is responsible for inflammation. It also blocks the molecule that activates the cellular inflammation response.

Skin infections

Psoriasis patients are prone and at a high risk of skin infections. The skin is already compromised and as such can be infected even with exposure to minute pathogens. Turmeric prevents skin infections due to its antibacterial properties.

Several studies have proven that psoriasis patients can reap huge benefits from this product. The product is FDA approved. However, the main challenge is bioavailability. It is poorly absorbed and that is why many people do not see the effect even with continued use. Those who process turmeric have gone ahead to make capsules that boost absorption. When using it at home, consider pairing it with fatty foods. This is one of the best ways to boost absorption.

Another point to note is that curcumin is available in small amounts in turmeric. So if you are considering turmeric powder from the store, ensure that you take a few grams each day to get adequate curcumin. Adding a little black pepper will increase its absorption.

How Taking Turmeric Helps Your Body Block Fat and Your Liver REMOVE Toxins as Fast as Possible

Turmeric is native in southeast India and is widely used as spice, particularly in curry. Due to its bitter, warm taste, it`s often added in butters, cheese, mustards, and powders in order to color them and add a unique flavor.

However, apart from its use in cooking, turmeric continues to amaze researchers regarding its wide plethora of health benefits. Although once concentrated on anti-inflammatory properties, support of detoxification, and reduced cancer risk, studies done on turmeric now show that it can be also used to treat heartburn, stomach pain, intestinal gas, bloating, diarrhea, gallbladder disorders, colds, wounds, headaches, bruising, arthritis, and many more.

While researchers once believed that in order to reap its benefits you have to take about 1-2 grams on a daily basis, as people in India do, studies now exhibit possible benefits at lower amounts. Sometimes, even 50 mg daily over the course of a few months have been associated with the same health benefits.

Top Five Reasons to Add Turmeric to Your Diet

1. Fat Blocker / Liver Detoxifier

Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, acts as fat blocker, while boosting liver function. It works by suppressing blood vessels used in the formation of fat tissue. It also produces enzymes which break down toxins in the system, which in turn detoxifies the liver.

2. Boosts Immune System

Turmeric contains lipopolysaccharide, a substance which is known to stimulate the immune system. It also possesses antifungal, antiviral, and antibacterial properties, which boost immunity and protect from various ailments. This is why turmeric is an amazing addition to your daily routine, particularly during stressful times and when you`re feeling unwell.

3. Reduces Inflammation

The volatile oil content of turmeric has exhibited notable anti-inflammatory activity in many different experimental models. Curcumin is even more powerful than its volatile oil, which has been found to be comparable to powerful drugs like hydrocortisone and phenylbutazone, and over-the-counter inflammatory agents like Motrin. While OTC or prescription drugs are linked to various toxic effects, turmeric produces no toxicity. It is also worth mentioning that curcumin has been found to work against inflammatory diseases like arthritis and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

4. Reduces Cholesterol Levels

Curcumin acts as messaging molecule that communicates with genes in the liver, stimulating the production of mRNA that control the formation of receptors of LDL cholesterol. With more of these receptors, liver cells are capable of clearing out more LDL-cholesterol from the body. In brief, turmeric possesses powerful cholesterol-lowering properties.

5. Cancer Prevention

Due to its antioxidant properties, curcumin protects colon cells from free radicals which may damage cellular DNA. It also inhibits the spread of cancer cells through the body by destroying the mutated cancerous cells. It has been scientifically shown that turmeric is potent enough to stop the growth of already existing cancer and kill off cancer cells. As a matter of fact, many researchers believe that turmeric is one of the most powerful protective agents against radiation-induced tumors.

You Want To Quit Smoking? Use This Herb And It Will Destroy Your Desire For Nicotine !

Even though we all know how bad for the health smoking is, a lot of people find it very difficult to quit this awful habit. The thing that makes smokers keep smoking is nicotine, a highly addictive substance that makes the body crave for more of it. In other words, the more you smoke and take in nicotine, the more your body needs it.

When you are not taking nicotine, the body does not get what it needs, and you start feeling discomfort and you ‘die’ for a cigarette.

This phase is the withdrawal one, so a lot of time is needed until you get used to living without smoking. After a week, the physical symptoms will stop, but the craving will bother you for quite a bit.

Have you decided to find a way to quit smoking, you will surely like to find out something more about Stevia.

1. The power of Stevia

Recently, a study was conducted in Germany, and it was revealed that Stevia can help people quit smoking and avoid alcohol. Stevia is a plant from the chrysanthemum family and it originates from Paraguay. This plant has been long used as a sweetener.

Stevia is able to block the craving signals that the brain sends and thus release you from the craving for cigarettes.

If you want to quit smoking, you should start consuming a couple of drops of stevia, and it will do the trick for you. Every time you experience a craving stroke, drop the stevia drops directly on the tongue. This will give you an immediate effect and it will eliminate the craving.

You can find stevia in the form of powder or liquid. It can be found in the supermarkets and the stores for healthy food, as well as in some baking goods or healthy foods aisles.

People who suffer from hypertension and people who are overweight can also benefit from stevia. It is also recommended for diabetics.

However, the best thing about this plant is its miraculous ability to kill the desire for nicotine. It is also highly beneficial for the skin, as it nourishes, smoothens, and tightens it, and thus, it is frequently used as a face mask product. It has great effects against acne as well, and it is highly efficient in fighting dermatitis.

2. Grow stevia at home

This perennial plant likes sun and warm temperatures, so it is no wonder that it cannot survive in freezing conditions. Nevertheless, its root is able to survive in zones 9 and warmer, and to grow again in spring. This root can also survive in zone 8 as well, of course, if it is well protected.

It is recommended that you plant stevia in 12-inch containers. Also, before you plant it, make sure that you use potting soil of high quality. Make sure it is exposed to direct sunlight and water it when the surface of the soil dries.

3. Soil, planting and growing care

The stevia plant needs to have a space of 18 inches. The soil you use for planting it needs to be loose, loamy, and well-drained, since this is exactly what this plant likes.

It can reach a height of 1-3 feet, depending on the growing season. Plant the stevia plant after the frost passes and make sure that you find compost or Bonnie Herb and Vegetable Plant Food. Also, you need to make sure you stick to the instructions given on the label.

During the summer, you are recommended to use mulch in order to prevent your stevia from drying out. If your stevia is planted in a pot, be sure that it gets the same plant food and mulch.

4. Troubles

Remember that stevia plant does not like soggy soil. It is very important that it has good drainage, or the root will rot. In case that your stevia plant is still wilting even though it has been watered, its roots are most likely rotten, or some insects are causing the problem.

5. Harvest and storage

The time when the stevia plant blooms is fall, so you can trim off the flowers. This will let the stevia grow new leaves.

During fall time, stevia has small white flowers, and it stretches out. This is the time when the good leaves of this plant are not numerous, so you would need to clip off the blooms, so the plant will release more leaves. The time when the leaves of this plant are the sweetest is autumn. It has the greatest taste before it starts blooming.

Once you pluck the stevia leaves, you can dry them and thus use them for a longer period of time. It is recommended that you cut off the stems and remove the leaves and the tender stems.

The stevia leaves should then be scattered on loosely woven fabric or some other non-metal surface. The adequate drying of the stevia leaves is outside, in the sun. The process of drying stevia leaves lasts for one day only. Then, before they become dump, they should be collected and stored in a container.

You can also use a food dehydrator. The dried stevia leaves should then be crushed with the hand or with a food processor. The aim is to create a powder out of them.

Finally, put the stevia powder or the crushed stevia leaves in airtight containers. You won’t be able to dissolve the stevia powder, but you will surely sweeten your drinks and food thanks to it.
